APLD Staff Contacts:
Executive Director: Denise Calabrese
As executive director, Denise works with the Board of Directors to develop a yearly workplan that recognizes and implements the goals of APLD, as well as approves an annual budget; provides facilitative support to the Board of Directors and committees, including preparation of agenda and materials; minutes' preparation and distribution; and other meeting logistics, as well as follow-up after meetings; guides the Board in the development and updates of the Bylaws and Policy Manual; protects the assets of APLD through proper legal and insurance support, banking arrangements, and adequate record keeping; manages APLD staff; and other duties as required.
Associate Executive Director & Certification Coordinator: Lisa Herron
As associate executive director, Lisa serves as the second-in-charge for APLD and works with the executive director on the above duties. She serves in the capacity of Executive Director in the absence of the Executive Director when handling the leadership responsibilities of the organization. In addition, as certification coordinator, Lisa’s responsibilities include coordinating the certification process by sending renewal certificates, potential and new certification packets, reminder letters to members whose certification will expire at year-end; working with the certification chair and committee and Communications Manager on promotional materials; regularly updating committee and chairperson on certification numbers and any other duties as required.
Communications Director: Stacy Henninger
The Communications Director works with the webmaster and the graphic designer to ensure that information is kept up-to-date and distributed to APLD members and other constituents in a timely and professional manner. Stacy also oversees all printed and electronic publications and communiqués for the organization and works closely with the Communications Committee, the Awards Committee, and the PR Agency of Record. Stacy is responsible for all the award programs for APLD, including submissions, judging, and notifications.
Membership Director : Christine Bailey
As membership manager, Christine’s responsibilities include working with the membership and chapter committees to develop membership renewal notices and keeping the committee up-to-date with current membership numbers; coordinating all committee meetings and follow-up, as required; reporting weekly chapter membership updates to each chapter; data entry of all new memberships, membership renewals, and events registrations; processing all incoming payments and reviewing annual budget for payment of invoices; working with the national program chair and events coordinator for the development and distribution of on-site conference materials and materials requested from chapters and members representing APLD at various events; and other duties as required.
Advertising & Sponsorship Coordinator: Julie Sullivan
The Advertising & Sponsorship Coordinator works with APLD’s sponsorship chair, sponsors and advertisers to ensure that they receive all benefits of advertising and sponsorship through APLD. Julie coordinates the Exhibitor Showcase at the conference, working closely with the Events Coordinator to finalize details and handles all onsite event management.
Events Coordinator: Keith McNally
The events coordinator plans and executes events by working with the international program chair and committee and the education chair and committee; making speaker arrangements; negotiating all conference details including hotel, meal and transportation; continuing arrangements with the hotel throughout the event; providing support to the committee and others involved in the conference and/or webinars prior to the events; follow-up with all aspects of the conference and/or webinars; and any other duties as required.
